Ben Cowan

Ben has soft-retired from his tenure as the voice of Walkers crisps and focuses now on his edit-work.
Since joining The Quarry, Ben continues to build his repertoire with a mix of branded and promo work, having worked on projects for Uber, Barclaycard, Adidas, and much more.
When not cutting footage, Ben takes part in any Simpsons-focussed pub quizzes he can find, and enjoys playing board games. Despite his lifelong adoration of emo music, Ben’s certain the soundtrack to his life would be the Shrek Soundtrack… Obviously.
Kaz Ové

Born in London, lived in Kingston Jamaica and Port of Spain Trinidad before leaving home at 17 and returning to London to Study, Kaz is the last of five children fathered by acclaimed filmmaker and photographer sir Horace Ové. From such prestige filmmaking lineage, it’s not surprising that Kaz was introduced to the idea of the Kuleshov effect and Eisenstein’s theories on montage at around 9 or 10 years old.
After working as a director/editor on music videos and commercials for a few years, his director mates kept asking him to edit their projects and eventually Kaz fell in love with editing, and has been editing full time ever since.
Kaz has cut projects for the likes of Akon, Stormzy, Burna Boy, SteffLondon, Chase+Status, Dizzee Rascal, Apple Music, Bailey’s, Ea Sports, Adidas and Levi’s among others.
When not editing Kaz is working on creating video art installation pieces and perfecting signature dance moves for private house parties the world over.
Geri Docherty

Geri is an award winning, Australian editor steered by a shrewd intuitive touch and perfectionism. Having worked across both commercial and independent film spaces – narrative shorts, documentaries, music videos and fashion films has made her perceptive in the field. Beyond the cutting room floor, Geri channels innate sensitivity and warmth throughout her work. She aims to empower both the narratives and characters she takes on through pace, rhythm and timing of her editing.
Geri recently received the Clipped 2024 editing award for ‘Going Kokomo’ by Royel Otis, and her ever-growing client list boasts the likes of Apple, Nike, JD Sports, Kathmandu, Champion, Mecca, Mazda, Mercedes Benz & Samsung, alongside notable music acts Troye Sivan, Lola Young, Future Islands, & The Last Dinner Party.
Despite her strange desire to sit alone for hours in dark rooms, Geri does get out occasionally. However, this does not explain why Geri moved from sunny Melbourne to dimly-lit London!
Joel Miller

Having worked in the industry for over 30 years, Joel Miller is a bona-fide master of the craft of editing. Joel started his editing career in the 90s when Steve Gandolfi opened the doors of Cut+Run. As an editor at Cut+Run in the UK, Joel worked extensively with acclaimed director Mark Denton, as well as other directors such as Daniel Barber and Rocky Morton. In 2007 Joel found himself moving over to America, where he built up a body of work that included huge commercials for brands such as NFL, BMW, Halls, HBO, and much more. Joel’s work for Popeyes’ viral film about the infamous chicken wars was awarded a Cannes Lion in 2019.
As well as an editor, Joel is a dog-lover, motorcycle enthusiast, car admirer, Lego master builder, graphic novel collector, and when he needs to be, temporary voice over-er.
Joel is based in the UK, but is available for work worldwide. Joel is represented by The Quarry in the UK, and Cut+Run in the US.
David Gesslbauer

Not just a rock lover but a would-be rockstar himself, David Gesslbauer was simultaneously producing electronic music whilst studying at the prestigious Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, with such success that he was offered a record label signing – but decided to commit to editing full time. David’s musical background is self evident when you hear his edits, as well as seeing them.
In his free time, David can be found attending gigs and concerts and immersing himself in live music. As well as knowing his way around After Effects, he’s also had a successful run at directing, winning several YDA Awards and having his shorts screened at TIFF.
In 2023, David was awarded a CICLOPE award for Editing ‘Understanding Gravity’ for The New York Times, as well as a slew of editing awards for his short film SPLIT SECOND
Ben Campbell

Ben’s formative years involved attending a remote boarding school in Wales, unloading articulated Michelin trucks in North Wales, three months in Ghana, and studying French at Goldsmiths College, with a bit of Judo and drumming for a rock band tossed in. Putting in the long hours as an assistant to Derek Williams led to Ben collaborating with Kate Bush on her promo for King of the Mountain. He then moved to Cut+Run where he eventually became Partner, and now sits as Partner at The Quarry. Along the way he’s won a Smörgåsbord of Awards and Accolades. Aside from the pleasures of the Craft, Ben feels lucky to have the opportunity to meet fellow creatives. “From client to client, it’s an ever flowing stream of quality grunting.”
He relishes the time off to spend with his growing family in London, North Wales and Rio. When he’s not editing you might find him in a bright corner of a café somewhere in the world, scratching his thinning hair, trying to eek out a paragraph or two. And that’s where he is now, sitting at his computer knocking out this hilarious bio in the third person.
Sam Jones

Known for his thoughtful approach and collaborative mindset, Sam strives to bring creativity and clarity to every project he works on.
From crafting Super 8mm films as a child in the Cotswolds to shaping globally acclaimed campaigns for brands like Nike, Guinness, and Apple, Sam has been fortunate to work on a wide range of projects. He began honing his craft in the world of music videos, where one project skyrocketed to become the 3rd most-viewed video on YouTube at the time, setting him well on his way. His work spans genres and continents, bringing a bold versatility to projects that have earned British Arrows, Sharks, Gold Cannes Lions and a place in The Drum’s 100 greatest ads of all time.
Whether cutting emotionally charged narratives or pulse-quickening commercials, Sam’s style blends art and precision while focusing on finding the heart of the story. Off the clock, he recharges in the quiet beauty of the Oxfordshire countryside.

Bruce Townend

Quarry co-founder Bruce Townend got his taste for storytelling at an early age in the art of photography, and at age 13 Bruce would ring up venues where some of his favourite bands would be playing and blag a press-pass under the guise of working for his school paper. It was during the process of developing and printing his pictures himself that the first notion of editing would come to Bruce, realising that by altering an image, you could change the story it was telling. Soon, Bruce became more concerned with the manipulation of images rather than the taking of them… and an editor was born.
For the past thirty years since founding The Quarry with long-time friend and business partner Paul Watts, Bruce has forged and maintained a reputation as one of the most prolific and talented editors in the industry.
