David Gesslbauer
Not just a rock lover but a would-be rockstar himself, David Gesslbauer was simultaneously producing electronic music whilst studying at the prestigious Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, with such success that he was offered a record label signing – but decided to commit to editing full time. David’s musical background is self evident when you hear his edits, as well as seeing them.
In his free time, David can be found attending gigs and concerts and immersing himself in live music. As well as knowing his way around After Effects, he’s also had a successful run at directing, winning several YDA Awards and having his shorts screened at TIFF.
In 2023, David was awarded a CICLOPE award for Editing ‘Understanding Gravity’ for The New York Times, as well as a slew of editing awards for his short film SPLIT SECOND. In 2025, David was nominated for a CANNES LION for Apple’s ‘Work Is Worth It’.
