Geri Docherty
Geri is an award winning, Australian editor steered by a shrewd intuitive touch and perfectionism. Having worked across both commercial and independent film spaces – narrative shorts, documentaries, music videos and fashion films has made her perceptive in the field. Beyond the cutting room floor, Geri channels innate sensitivity and warmth throughout her work. She aims to empower both the narratives and characters she takes on through pace, rhythm and timing of her editing.
Geri recently received the Clipped 2024 editing award for ‘Going Kokomo’ by Royel Otis, and her ever-growing client list boasts the likes of Apple, Nike, JD Sports, Kathmandu, Champion, Mecca, Mazda, Mercedes Benz & Samsung, alongside notable music acts PinkPantheress, Troye Sivan, Lola Young, Perrie, & The Last Dinner Party.
Despite her strange desire to sit alone for hours in dark rooms, Geri does get out occasionally. However, this does not explain why Geri moved from sunny Melbourne to dimly-lit London.
‘First Light’, Geri’s first feature film, made its premiere at The Melbourne International Film Festival in 2025, the same year Geri was awarded the title of Rising Talent Editor by IF Magazine.
